Virgin Pet Insurance: Compare

http://www.virgin.com/

Virgin pet insurance offers three levels of cover. The differences hinge on vet’s fees. At the most basic level there’s up to ₤1,500 cover for each accidental injury, claimable for one year after the date of first treatment. One step up is up to ₤3,000 for each injury, illness and disease, also only valid for a year from the first treatment. At the top level of cover there’s ‘accident and illness extra’ which provides up to ₤6,000 for each condition with no time limit. Even the highest level of vet cover is not the most comprehensive it’s possible to find on the market. But Virgin pet insurance makes for fairly good cover with the additional provisions at all levels for holiday cancellation and curtailment; kennel or cattery fees in the event of your hospitalisation; recovery costs for a missing pet; personal liability up to ₤1 million for dog owners, and four help lines. As always though, which insurance policy is suitable for you will depend very much on your particular situation and there are a lot of pet insurers out there to choose from.

You can obtain a quote and more information about Virgin pet insurance at the finance section of the Virgin site (www.virgin.com). If you do decide to take out a policy there’s a 5% discount for every subsequent pet you put on it, and if you take out more than one of Virgin’s insurance products you get a 10% discount. Fittingly, Virgin Atlantic agreed in 2003 to take cats and dogs on transatlantic flights as part of a UK government Pet Travel scheme.
