Motorcycle Insurance: How to get quotes.

When looking for motorcycle insurance quotes, you need to think carefully about what you want to be covered. Every rider is different, and you would be well advised to find a company that goes about its business acknowledging that. There are a wide range of schemes that should provide you with quotes tailored for you, your bike, and the way you wish to use it. One thing that is important is that you take the time to research the market, and get as many quotes as possible, so that you have the best chance of finding the most appropriate and best value deal.

That deal should provide you with some decent features. Look at the details on the insurance policy carefully, to find out what you are getting for your premiums. Remember that accidents can happen at any time of day, as can thefts, so you should expect your insurance company to have a call centre open 24 hours a day to enable your call to be taken and your claim to be processed as quickly as possible.

Your quote should allow you the opportunity to pay your premiums monthly, rather than having to pay all of your insurance in one go. The monthly premiums should be collectable by direct debit. By spreading your payments over a year you can make the cover more affordable.

If you look carefully you may find a company who will give you a no claims bonus, and protection for that no claims bonus. Most companies will want you to pay them a small fee in addition to secure the protection. This enables you to still get a discount on your insurance policy even though you might claim. It's important though that you understand that not many insurance companies actually offer no claims bonuses for motorcycle insurance.

When you go for your quote, you should ask if some extras are available to provide you with further peace of mind. Ask about personal possessions cover, as the cost of replacing clothing such as leathers can be quote prohibitive. You might also want legal expenses cover should you have to fight claims for personal injury or loss of earnings. Then there is personal accident cover, which is set up to insure you against injuries caused directly from an accident. You can also receive cover and added compensation should you need to spend time in hospital.

Some insurers may also offer specially designed roadside rescue services for bikers. You should find out if the quote includes this. You ideally want something that includes free call out charges and labour, although you should expect to pay for parts. You should also be taken to the nearest place of safety, like a garage.
