Cheap Life Insurance - Quotes Online UK

How do I find the cheapest life insurance for my requirements?

It's a great time to be a consumer looking for cheap life insurance. The market is going through a period of unprecedented competitiveness. Also, the fact that the AIDS epidemic has receded both in its potency and how widespread it is means that life insurance premiums have come down in general across the board.

The market has been expanded recently by more and more cheapest life insurance providers entering the market. The breadth of the market means that you will pay vastly different amounts in premiums for the same amount of cover for people of the same health and age over the same period of time. Since the difference between the highest and lowest premiums for the same cover could be so much that the higher premium could be double the lowest. It pays to shop around, as you are more likely to get the best rate the more quotes you get.

Of course, if you don't have much time, you may feel that you just want to go to one company and ask for the best rate they have. Now, you would have to be very unlucky to finish with the worst quote on the market, and very lucky to finish with the best quote on the market if you only go to one company. But you don't need to leave it to luck.

An insurance broker can give you a wider view of the market, but you need to be careful with them. Some may be tied to one company, yet may still call themselves 'agents'. There is no difference between this and going to one company to ask them for a rate. Some 'consultants' are actually 'multi-tied' which means that they can only recommend products from a range of companies, still not giving you a full view of the market.

So you could look for an independent insurance broker, which should provide you with a wide view of the market with the largest range of products and providers. This way you have more chance of finding the better rate, and you may be refunded some of the commission that the broker receives in the form of lower premiums, known as discounting.

The internet should help you find the best rates at your fingertips. On many brokers' websites you will find comparison services where you can enter personal details, your needs and receive a wide variety of quotes from all the companies the broker has dealt with. You may even be able to apply online for the policy, by printing off the application form and the key features document, filling them in and sending them to the company or the broker.
