Asda Home Insurance: discounts for buying online

http://www.asdafinance.com/

Asda’s first foray into financial services in 2003 was with home insurance and its rates were accordingly competitive, at least within the supermarket sector. And taking out Asda home insurance, the website states, could still save you ₤100. There’s also a 15% discount for buying online. Some of the benefits highlighted are direct dealing between tradesmen and Asda so that all you have to do is pay the excess, and claims sorted out (‘normally’) in one phone call.

Asda Home Insurance includes flood damage

You can buy contents and/or buildings cover with Asda home insurance. The former features cover for home contents ‘at home or temporarily removed’ of up to ₤60,000 and valuables cover of up to ₤20,000, both of which are fairly high. There are optional add-ons of accidental damage cover, a car breakdown service and legal expenses of up to ₤50,000. The buildings insurance includes cover against loss or damage from storm, fire, theft or flood. The last one is important because insurers are becoming increasingly reluctant to provide this kind of cover to new customers.

For more information about Asda home insurance, visit the website at www.asdafinance.com. You can also obtain a quote there and read all the policy documents in full. This is an important thing to do before you take out insurance and afterwards, just in case you miss a restriction or, for that matter, a benefit. For example, in Asda contents insurance there’s ₤3,000 apiece worth of automatic cover for Christmas and wedding gifts – something you might not guess unless you read it.
