American firm Capital One offers a wide variety of credit cards that should match most requirements. Since 1995 they have expanded to become one of the leading credit companies in the world. With close to 50 million customers they control loans of more than $70 billion dollars, and it's this global reach and size that means they can afford to offer competitive rates. Their size also means they can diversify and consequently they have a number of different cards available.
Currently they offer four different basic cards to United Kingdom based customers. For the real high rollers the No Hassle Platinum Card offers up to £25,000 credit and a low flat rate, but relies on customers being able to clear their balance regularly and having a strong credit rating. The normal Platinum Card offers a similar deal with lower rates on transfers (which would benefit those owing money on other cards and hoping to cut payments and interest).
For those with different needs and who want to borrow less money regularly Capital One have two other cards: The Premier Card offers a £4000 credit limit and a low rate on transfers. For those wanting to strengthen their credit history and borrow less the Classic Card is the best bet, affording customers an easy way to get on the credit ladder! It is worth bearing in mind that the Classic Card has an extremely high APR and customers should proceed with caution.
Customers wanting to further refine their credit requirements can go on to choose from a series of customised plastic tailored to suit their individual needs and lifestyles. Everything from gourmet to a football cards are available. Basically these cards are all variations on the four basic templates offered on their homepage, but they allow a certain degree of self-expression that some credit card users might find appealing. Others might find this degree of choice simply bewildering.
All of the cards offered by Capital One come with a degree of protection covering liability (in terms of fraud or theft) as well as choice regarding statement dates. Their site also offers a 'Help' facility for people wanting to find out which card would suit them best. Customers can also manage their credit card account online and check their limit, transactions and statements.
