Compare Asda Car Insurance: another supermarket giant

http://www.asdafinance.com/car-insurance.html

Asda, since 1999 part of the enormous Wal-Mart corporation, is one of several supermarket giants to turn its hand to car insurance recently. This is one lucrative item in the ever-growing arsenal of services which fierce competition between chains forces them to muster against each other. And it is fierce. The biggest of the big guns, Tesco, will among other things arrange your holiday, manage your finances, and provide you with an email address as well as sell you groceries and car insurance – and consequently a massive eighth of all the money spent by British shoppers went to the company in 2004. The fate of the ailing Safeway, snapped up by Morrison’s in the same year, shows what happens to companies which for whatever reason can’t keep up.

What Asda has to offer...

There are, as with most online providers, some restrictions. They won’t immediately insure anyone who drives cars for a living, professional sportsmen and women, actors or TV/radio presenters. And you can’t have claimed on your car insurance more than once in the past four years. Drivers to whom any of the above applies are asked to ring the company. Among the provisions Asda offers if you do meet these and other criteria are a three-year workmanship guarantee for accident repairs, provision for legal expenses, and up to 70% no claims discounts. With comprehensive cover there is also the promise of a courtesy car and an accident recovery scheme which will take you home and your car to a garage if it’s left undriveable. Claims are dealt with entirely by phone.

For more information about Asda’s car insurance services, visit the company’s website at www.asda.co.uk. As always, if you are considering taking out car insurance, compare quotes from various companies before you make a firm decision.
